Taylor is a cellist with a career in recording and performing music spanning all genres, from classical and avant-garde jazz to singer-songwriter and folk rock. A graduate of the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, Taylor studied with Professors Richard Aaron, Ed Sarath, and Miles Okazaki. Taylor merges her technique from classical pedagogy with her passion for composition and improvisation spanning a wide range of genres; this unique skillset has led her to perform with various groups across the country and internationally on tour and at music festivals, notably South by Southwest (SXSW), Iceland Airwaves (Reykjavik, Iceland), the College Music Journal Marathon (New York, NY), Capitol Hill Block Party (Seattle, WA), and Bumbershoot (Seattle, WA). A seasoned session cellist, Taylor's distinct melodic lines, lush string arrangements and warm, clear tone are featured on over a decade's worth of records. She currently teaches cello on Bainbridge Island and serves as principal cellist in the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra.
